Steven J. Rude:
Chief Executive Officer
Steve Rude is the Vice-President/LPO Manager at First Choice Bank in Carlsbad, CA. He is also the founder of SJR Capital Inc. His mortgage and real estate experience spans over 25 years as a Regional Manager, Sales Manager and Top Producing loan officer, with national Fortune 500 companies to Sr. Management in some of the finest mortgage banking operations in the region. He has extensive business development skills, coupled with a passion for personal growth.
Based in Carlsbad, California, SJR Capital was founded to build and develop real estate as well as sales and marketing of luxury homes along the East Cape of Southern Baja. Founded in 2006, the company has established partnerships with developers, architects, builders, sales agents, and interior designers throughout Los Cabos to offer their clients the highest quality Baja real estate product.
Steve believes in leading by example, personally and in business. As an entrepreneur since the age of 20, he consistently strives for excellence by being a visionary and a leader among his peers and business associates. His specialties include Real Estate, Acquisitions, Financing, Marketing & Sales, Mortgage Operations, as well as Business Development.
Steve and his wonderful wife Jeanne were married in Los Cabos, MX and reside in Carlsbad, CA, and are part-time residents in San Jose Del Cabo. Jeanne is a full time real estate agent in Carlsbad and shares Steve’s passion for Los Cabos.
Dr. Ron Rosa:

Dr. Rosa’s extensive real estate background started in 1984 with his first investment property. Since then, he has ventured into virtually all aspects of real estate: single-family homes, condominiums, apartment buildings, a retail shopping center, agriculture, and land development throughout the southwest United States. He has had an interest in Los Cabos for many years, initially as a surfer looking for the “prefect wave”. He saw the beauty of the East Cape, with its beautiful beaches with great surf, and realizes the potential for its future. Now it’s coming to fruition with Hacienda Vinorama Development and the first phase of development at “Punta Perfecta”.
Dr. Rosa is a practicing optometrist in Encinitas, CA for over 30 years, and has owned and operated many vision clinics throughout San Diego County. Having owned his own business for a number of years and overseen a number of real estate investments from the financial perspective, he is an ideal CFO for Hacienda Vinorama Development.
Dr. Rosa is married with three children and two grandchildren, and lives in Carlsbad, CA.
Gabriel Ignacio Corral Gonzalez
Development Partner
Gabriel is married to Edith Palacios, and the father of two children, Ignacio, 22 years old and Carolina, 20 years old. He studied in Mexico City from 1966 till 1984 and started working at Hewlett Packard 1985, then IBM until 1987.
In September 1987, looking for change and a new way of life, he moved to Los Cabos where he was introduced to Donald Balsley with whom he got started in the real state and developing business, forming the company Callimaya Real State S.A. of C.V., of which he is still the sole owner.
Callimaya since then has developed the following projects:
Rancho Cerro Colorado
- 32 hectares divided into 150 lots, family, condominium and commercial lots.
- Cerro Colorado is sold 100% and has been developed in 40%.
Condominiums La Terraza
- Group of condominiums of 2 and 3 rooms, build inside Rancho Cerro Colorado, built in 1998 and are 100% sold.
- Callimaya participated in selling the lot to the developers, selling the condominiums.
Castillos de Arena
- Developed in 1998, it’s located on the East Cape, 100 residential lots in a 12 hectares property, today sold at 100%.
In 1999, Gabriel participated on the sale of the property where Querencia is now build, 306 hectares. In 2001 , he participated on the development Cabo Vinoramas, where participation included obtaining all permits to develop to selling of the lots. All permits are in order and the project is 40% sold.
Matt Driscoll
Partner
Matt has been a successful manufacturer’s representative in the Visual Communications Industry for 20 years. This sales experience has loaned itself to extensive travel throughout the United States and Internationally.
He has been vacationing and working in Cabo San Lucas for the last 10 years and remains enchanted and appreciative of the East Cape, and specifically Vinorama. The outdoor life and resources that the East Cape offers provide the environment to relax at the highest level and that ties directly into family and financial values.
Matt has been married for 24 years and has three children. He has resided in Carlsbad, Ca for 22 years.
Donald Balsley

After 20 years as an officer in Unites States Airforce, Don retired in 1974 and went back to college to receive his contractor’s license with an emphasis on land development. He then began building houses and developing subdivisions in North County San Diego, CA.
In 1976, he visited the Los Cabos region in search of warm ocean water to surf. While there, he met many members of the Gonzalez family that owned several large pieces of land that were undeveloped. Don was instrumental in helping them develop various projects in the San Jose area including: Rancho Cerro Colorado, Mykonos and Cabo Colorado projects. In addition, he has built several houses and condominiums in both the U.S. and Baja Sur Mexico.
After many adventures and passion for the beauty of the East Cape, Don and two partners purchased a large parcel of land along the Sea of Cortez beachfront. Here, he designed and supervised the development into a subdivision called Cabo Vinorama Estates containing 152 lots in total.
